V1.0 Version of the PD Slide & Swing Door

In the initial V1.0 version of the PD Slide & Swing , the system faced the problem of unstable panels. There is no hook between the parallel panels, leaving a gap between the parallel panels. Without a control mechanism, the sliding panel could easily slide out of position anytime, creating a safety hazard. In addition, due to insufficient support, panels can sag over time and drag on the floor, affecting aesthetics and ease of use.

Improvements made in Version 2 of PD Slide & Swing Door

Version 2.0 addresses these issues by adding a hook to the joint profile that securely holds the swing and slide panels together. A patented control box ensures that the sliding panel is secure, eliminating the risk of sliding or sagging, while a top track limits excessive movement of the sliding panel, enhancing overall functionality.

Version 3, Improving Our Slide & Swing Door Systems to meet HIP Requirements

Version 3.0 has been developed to meet the requirements of the Home Improvement Programme (HIP). It features an aluminium connection profile made from thicker material for improved stability and security, particularly for wider doors. The upgraded control box, which utilises a spring design, has been successfully tested for reliability and safety by the Public Safety Board (PSB). In addition, the hinge’s finish can now be matched to the door colour for a more coordinated appearance.

Version 4: A more Aesthetically Pleasing Slide & Swing Door

With the introduction of Version 4.0, the VG hinge system offers a seamless, uncluttered appearance, eliminating visible gaps and presenting the aesthetics of a ‘complete door’. The door swings flush at a 90-degree angle to the wall, maximising space utilisation and enhancing modern design. New double door frame options such as ‘Yd’ and ‘Li’ frames accommodate thicker walls for added robustness and visual appeal. An upgraded 10mm panel enhances durability and improves acoustic insulation, while eliminating the need for rubber gaskets and simplifying maintenance.
